The system consisted of a 10kW wave generator turbine, load bank and starter power supply.
Aim of the System
To test out the novel wave turbine system, using a pressure differential turbine to harness bi-directional air flow from wave motion without losing energy due to changing turbine rotation direction to follow the air flow.
Battery, BMS, Turbine Control System as it required running up to a start speed of 1000rpm before it would self-run and generate. Control of load bank to mange excess energy once the battery was charged from the turbine.
Mechanical design of the turbine / generator assembly including overseeing manufacturing and assembly, creation of test rigs to validate system components and sea trials.
